I attended the first of many IDHA Business Boot camps.  Every class I took I learned something new every time.  Bev Woods and Lori Lawrence are a couple of very few pioneers that opened their own Independent Dental Hygiene Clinic just after the legislation changed and now they are sharing their knowledge with us!!  They have paved the way in unchartered territory and are sharing their ups and downs with us so we have a smooth transition to becoming Independent.  They are very passionate about what they do.  Whether you want to open your own Independent Dental Hygiene Clinic, are currently running one, need a refresher, or need new ideas for your business then I would highly recommend attending one of their seminars. "I attended the entire weekend Boot camp seminar with Bev and Lori and was thoroughly impressed with the content, material presented and what I learned from it. The guest speakers and take away bags were a nice touch as well. I found them to be very professional as well as forth coming about their experiences, especially Bev. The fee they charge is nominal in my opinion, compared to what you learn and is a minor investment to decide if independent practice is the route you should take. I would highly recommend this entire weekend seminar to any thinking about independent practice of Dental Hygiene or who would simply like to learn more about it to earn some CE credits while learning from peers very willing to share both their experiences and information. I have never come across two individuals in any other industry thus far so willing to share and help others in a caring and professional way. In my opinion, two awesome ladies doing a great service for our industry.

I first started my journey of independent practice without any idea of the complexities of owning and operating a business. The more I learned the more I realized that I needed advice from someone who has been down the road I was on. In February 2013 the IDHA presented a two-day boot camp on independent practice. This boot camp allowed me to make decisions that I had been struggling with; decisions both great and small.
Without Bev and Lori's guidance, I would be swimming in uncertainty. Education is the key to success.
